Hello all,
The Power Tracking Dashboard has been modified to take into account hard drive power management settings.

The “Current Power Usage” calculations have been modified.
- If a workstation has does
not
have standby mode enabled, but has hard drive PM set to 90 min or less, then the workstation “active power draw” amount is reduced by 8 watts. The user can adjust the hard drive power savings under the “Addition Information” section. If both standby mode and hard drive PM are enabled, the hard drive power savings are not taken into account. The idea being that, when in standby, the hard drive is already powered down.
Hard drive Power Management statistics are now displayed along side the standby mode and monitor PM statistics. You can set hard drive PM using the “Power Profile Wizard”, which is linked from the dashboard.
The default value for hard drive power savings is 8 watts. 8 to 10 watts is the general average, but can very greatly depending on the make and usage of the device.
Note this is only a change to the way the statistics are calculated. No changes were made to Power Management analysis or any other part of the site.
