I have a large number of PC’s where the task to Wake from Standby fails. Some users are reporting that they cannot wake-up the PC from Standby with the mouse and keyboard. We have new hw and are runnign xp3, yet the tasks fails on oveer 2500 PC’s.
When i logon to a PC as a non-admin, and go to Computer Properties for the mouse and keyboard, I don’t see the Power Magement button for the 2 devices. Yet, when I logon as an admin, I see the button.
Would the task fail if the logged on user is not an admin?
Regarding my PM - Wake from Standby post – I noticed on some PC’s that if I deployed this task first - Set Sleep State to S3 when USB Devices are Present - Windows XP and then deployed the Wake from Standby task after., The Wake from Standby did not come back as failed.
Also, when no user is logged on, shoudl the PC not go to sleep in the sleep time that was from the last user?

That’s normal, and shouldn’t affect the ability to wake from standby. You probably need to configure the USB devices to allow wake from standby with this task:
Enable All Input Devices to Allow Wake from Standby - Windows XP/Vista/7
