Power Mgmt - Wake up from Standby

I have a large number of PC’s where the task to Wake from Standby fails. Some users are reporting that they cannot wake-up the PC from Standby with the mouse and keyboard. We have new hw and are runnign xp3, yet the tasks fails on oveer 2500 PC’s.

When i logon to a PC as a non-admin, and go to Computer Properties for the mouse and keyboard, I don’t see the Power Magement button for the 2 devices. Yet, when I logon as an admin, I see the button.

Would the task fail if the logged on user is not an admin?

Is there an issue with the task?

Hi jr,

It is not supposed to be affected by the current user (the action runs as SYSTEM). Does it appear to work for people who were logged in as admin?
