Post action task while deploy Patch

in Post Action task while deploy patch we select generally Restart and allow user to cancel checked
and we select deadline accordingly. But that is also noticed that if user cancelled the action restart option, patch or fixlet status remains “pending restart” or failed.

any suggestion on this.

That’s expected behavior. For the patches that require a restart to complete, it’s not complete until the restart occurs.

Yes. thats what we suggest our clients for best practices.

I am thinking there should be way even user cancel the “restart” option but once set deadline meets it should restart where it requires.

You can handle that with a separate “Restart” action generated from the Restart Required by a BES Action task. You would schedule it to run at your pre-determined deadline, and target “All Computers”, or what ever subset was appropriate.

Any computers that have already been rebooted will not be relevant, and any that have not been restarted by their users, can be restarted as you see fit.

thank you for the update @TimRice. But still client does not want that too. So I have left one option that is send out communication email to users stating reboot requires.
