PDF For Web Reports in Win2008

(imported topic written by SystemAdmin)

Hello,

Does anyone have an update to when PDF printing in web reports will be supported for Server 2008? I tried to do as much as the install by hand - but the Apple print driver is no longer available in 2008. Has anyone on 2008 got it running?

Cheers,

Mike

I tried to do the same and I was able to get the first part to work with some modification of the fixlet through a custom copy. The second part however I was unable to get to work, due to that Apple Printer, which you mentioned.

The GhostScript, IE 7, Flash, those are not a problem in 2008 as IE 7 is already bundled, GhostScript is available (both 32 and 64-bit) and Flash Player can be easily installed. The registry keys are easy but that Apple Printer, which you mentioned is the problem.

Searching the internet, I found this

. I don’t know that it’ll be useful to anyone but I just thought it was interesting that he made mention of that and posted some code he used to work around that PostScript limitation.

I am using Server 2008 Enterprise x64 currently and hope that it becomes available soon. I’ve been thinking about setting up a 2003 VM to have the PDF enabling ability but I’m giving it some more time as I recently migrated to 2008 64-bit and would like to avoid using 2003 32-bit if at all possible. Much like you Mike, I couldn’t get it to work either and I ask the same, anyone else got it working yet or an idea of when the 2008 compatible tasks will show up?
