Hi,

Can anyone share their system for using Bigfix to test and deploy windows patches?

Currently, we have policies that state that patches must be tested on specific machines for a certain amount of time, and then once this testing is deemed uneventful, we push those patches out to another larger set of computers. I am using Baselines for this, creating a baseline with the patches I want to deploy (more than 1 during this period where we are trying to get “caught up”.) Perhaps there is a better system/method for doing this with Bigfix?

: Within the method I am using, it would be a nice feature to be able to create a baseline or add to a baseline by right clicking on the fixlets themselves. Currently, I am making a note of which fixlets are relevant to the group of computers I am interested in and then adding these to a baseline I create.

Hey Shawn,

Your suggestion is a good idea. I always do the same thing: I select a bunch of Fixlets, right-click on them and expect an “Add to Baseline” button, but I always forget that button doesn’t exist. I think we are planning on adding this, but I need to check the schedule to see if it will make it into the next version.
