Are the following features available on bigfix?
- Perform pre-patches and check the success rate before deploying to endpoints?
- Can BigFix automatically export and back up all fixlet to a server for manual updates if needed?
About 1.) You can create a Test group and deploy automatically with Patch Policy
About 2.) Only when an Action is Relevant for the Computer it will execute the prefetch and download and install the binaries… You can also check the option for pre-cache it before the execution will start

You could build computer groups that break your clients into 2 or more patch groups then do something like this:
1 - Patch group 1, which would be a small group of clients
2 - Verify patch results, either manually or through the API
3 - Patch group 2, which could be the rest of your unpatched clients or another group of your choice
4 - Verify again.
5 - Rinse and repeat as you see fit until all clients are patched.
