Are there any plans to add additional input field types such as Radio Buttons and Check Boxes to Parameterized Fixlets?

You can do that today, but you have to write the javascript to handle it. There’s not much of an infrastructure out-of-the-box for building your own parameterized fixlets, but with a little HTML and JavaScript knowledge it’s actually quite powerful.
Any new capabilities are likely to be delivered through WebUI. I don’t know what the team is doing in this area specifically, just that you shouldn’t expect many new features in the Console.
