OS X 10.10.2 Update Custom Fixlet

Due to unclear reasons, OS X 10.10.2 Update fixlet actions failed during testing and we cannot publish those fixlets.

We are still investigating it.

For now, we are providing custom fixlets via bigfix.me.

We recommend to deploy this update manually, then use audit fixlets to check the status.
Fixlet’s actions may fail.

Which actions are failing? The native relay method, or softwareupdate? Or both?

Both cases are failing.

I’ve heard that the 10.10.2 combo update only works on 10.10. If you’re already on 10.10.1, you’ll be required to use the delta update for 10.10.2.

Apple lists the system requirements on their update pages at the bottom:

I’m unsure if this could be related to the fixlets failing, but I wanted to share just in case.

EDIT: After looking at some of the action script, I believe you’ve already accounted for that issue.

Any update on this? For me, the 10.10.2 Combo fixlet from bigfix.me works, but only if I use Action 2 (the softwareupdate method). Also, it reports “Failed” for a while before re-evaluating to “Fixed”.

This is the similar behavior we observed during testing.

We think it might be an agent issue.

Our agent team is still working on it.

Platform team has released a new agent for Mac.
Patch Management team has released the content for OS X 10.10.
