Notice to customers - BigFix server Intermittent licensing issue

Please be aware that we are currently experiencing intermittent outages within our licensing backend that may be impacting or have impact to your BigFix environment today. Most customers however will likely not see any impact. We’ve established that the following functions are impacted.

  • Modification of allocations by BigFix server serial# within the license Key Center time out with “HTTP Error 28: Timeout was Reached”

  • Due to this, license modifications in http://tem.subscribenet.com will not cascade to your BigFix server.

  • Initial BigFix server installs with BigFix License Authorization files time out with “ Unable to submit license request: HTTP Error 28: Timeout was reached”

  • http://support.bigfix.com/bes/forms/BESLicenseRequestHandler.html requests to register new BigFix licenses will time out.

  • AirGap tool will present Error: HTTP Error 28: Timeout was reached. New Site content will not be gathered by the AirGap tool.

  • BESRelay Log will show error LicenseUpdater (####) - HTTPS connection to {https://gatherer.bigfix.com/cgi-bin/LicenseServerFrontend.pl} was unsuccessful due to {HTTP Error 28: Timeout was reached}

Additionally, we’d like customers to avoid using the BigFix Administration Tool (BESAdmin) during this time.

We want you to know that we are cognizant of the potential impact to our customers and we are working around the clock with the highest priority on resolving the issue. We will be posting updates here as the issue evolves or is resolved.

Is there a way you can process the airgap file manually?
