I have installed a new TEM infrastructure consisting of TEM Server, Database, and Console. My TEM Console is co-hosted on the same instance as the TEM Server, and the database is hosted on a remote Database Server (I am working in a non-production environment).
I have installed the TEM Client on two servers. However, these never appear in the TEM Console under the “Computers” view. I have checked the log files on both Clients and these do show successful sync with the TEM Server, and a successful Gather.
I am at a loss to explain why these Clients do not appear in the Computers view.
I would appreciate any suggestions to help me troubleshoot the issue.
Further information: Not even the TEM Server itself is listed under the Computers view in the Console (even with the TEM Client installed and operating).
If you’ve never seen them in the console it could be a name resolution issue. Dueing the install you were asked to provide a name or IP of the server. You can find what you typed in the masthead.afxm file. If clients can’t reolve this then they won’t show up. You can also find more clues in the client log under …/BESDATA/__Global/__LOGS/
Update: I did attempt to reinstall a few Clients, but these still did not show up in the Console. In the end I decided to reinstall the TEM Server (using my existing license.crt file). After this all of my existing Clients immediately appeared in the Console!
Thanks to all those who replied and offered their help.
