"No Action Selected" Bug

(imported topic written by SystemAdmin)

I am wondering if there’re plans to fix “No Action Selected” bug that is currently present in v8.1 and was carried over from v7? I am talking about an issue when you create a baseline with large number of fixlets, some fixlets will get created with “No Action Selected” and you have to manually scroll through entire list and pick Action1 or Action2.

On fairly large baselines this gets very annoying and I really hoped that this was fixed in 8.1 but we just installed a test server and the same bug is still present.

Thanks!

That’s a bug? i thought it was intended that way, because since there is no default action for those fixlets, you have to manually select the action you want.

That’s the thing though, I am not talking about those fixlets that have either no action assigned or multiple actions; this happens to fixlets that only have Action1 as the only action available, yet it gets carried into a baseline with “No Action Selected” and I have to manually select Action1 from the drop-down.

Have you confirmed that there is only one action and that it is set as the default (box ticked, * next to action).

It might be worth trying to un-tick default action, save it, reload, tick-it again, save it and then see what happens when you add it to a baseline.

This is behavior by-design.

If there is a “default action”, it is picked automatically. If there is no default action (even for Fixlets with only one action), then it won’t be selected. Why aren’t there always default actions for Fixlets you ask? See here: http://support.bigfix.com/cgi-bin/kbdirect.pl?id=474
