Newbie Question

How do i sync the computers in my AD with big fix?

I joined a company where they use big fix and the person before left the company and did not show how to do anything.

egolovin,

BigFix can perform a lot of interesting tasks and I would suggest some training, as this will be the most beneficial. Teach a man to fish and all that sort of thing.

If you learn better on your own, BigFix has a great website with more information than I’ve ever seen available to the general public.

If you learn better by having someone teach you the basics and intermediate steps:

I didn’t understand what you were trying to accomplish with your question. Maybe you can rephrase it a bit, or give a bit more information and we can help you out.

Thanks

Well we have a Domain Enviroment. What I am trying to do is import the computers from the domain controller to Bigfix. Unless it is done another way.

I have noticed the new computer tha have been added to the domain are not part of the big fix server.

egolovin,

This makes much more sense

BigFix uses an agent on each machine to communicate with the BigFix server. Agent deployment is discussed in the BES Admin Guide:

Generally you have a few options to deploy the agent to new machines. Using the BES Deploy utility, Group Policy, login script, and manually. Since your devices aren’t automatically installing, I would assume that your environment doesn’t use Group Policy or login script. On the BES Root server, you can find the Client directory which will be the BES Agent to install on the client.
