The BigFix team is pleased to announce an update to Software Distribution and the Self Service Application.
Reasons for Update
New Features in Self Service Application (SSA 3.2.2):
• Now you can snooze the SSA messages with an higher granularity, with a new list of snooze options.
• You can configure SSA to disable the toast notification of required messages and let the main SSA interface to open directly on the middle of the screen.
• You can configure SSA to allow a user to “minimize” topmost notification of a mandatory action also when the deadline is reached.
Fixed issues in Software Distribution site:
• KB0090103: The edit button does not appear when managing Task in SWD dashboard.
• KB0094615: Console created baselines prompt the user to take action after clicking deferral.
• KB0095361: Doc update: Insert dependency to library libnsl.so.1 for RHEL 8 - SWDDownloadPlugin.
• KB0095754: WebUI Initialization Failed - size field of the package is saved as string.
• KB0097028: Software distribution dashboard permission settings does not work as expected.
Removed features in Software Distribution site:
• SPB file type support has been removed.
• Out of support content related to Self Service Portal has been removed.
• All the deprecated Flash based dashboards have been removed.
Actions to Take:
• Gathering of the site will automatically show the new updates.
• Users of the BigFix Self Service Application will need to update this component to version 3.2.2 using the following fixlets from Software Distribution site:
- Fixlet 302 to upgrade SSA for Windows.
- Fixlet 304 to upgrade SSA for Mac OS.
