I just applied kb2993651 over the weekend to a 64 bit Windows 7 machine and had video corruption. Are others applying this update? If so, have there been any issues. I am seriously thinking about taking it out of this months patch cycle, and wait until Microsoft comes out with a better implementation of this patch.

Microsoft has mentioned in its KB page that there are a couple of Known issues associated with KB2993651. (

) They may contribute to your video corruption issue.
So far I haven’t heard any other report regarding KB2993651 and Microsoft did not provide any re-release or revision for MS14-045.
KB2993651 was released by MS to replace its previous patch KB2982791. Though it has known issues, I think it is important to fix some other vulnerabilities. It may not be a “safe” solution to take it out of the patching cycle.
