I have two servers showing relevant for this patch and after running the fixlet, they still show relevant. So I manually tried to apply both these patches:
MS12-054: Vulnerabilities in Windows Networking Components Could Allow Remote Code Execution - Windows Server 2008 SP2 (x64) - KB2705219
MS12-054: Vulnerabilities in Windows Networking Components Could Allow Remote Code Execution - Windows Server 2008 SP2 (x64) - KB2712808
After manually executing both patches I got a message from both of them that this patch doesn’t apply to this server.
If you need specific details please let me know what I need to provide you with.
To further investigate this issue, I think we may need to get more detail information regarding your server environment. It would be great if you can contact our support guy? We may set up live session if we cannot identify the root cause from logs.
Here are some thoughts may be your reference:
Sometimes, when you install the patch, “The update does not apply to your system” dialog pop up, one reason may be the patch has been installed on the target machine.
For kernel patches, we normally check file version to address whether or not the vulnerable binaries are patched. You may want to look into the file version on target machine, to check what happened.
To let the binaries version updated, reboot the system may be required.
