Missing profile pictures

Lately, the profile pictures associated with multiple forum users are missing, and being displayed as broken link images…

There’s a 502 error preventing the display of some the “letter” avatars:

I’m not sure what the issue is. I hope to investigate this soon. Seems to have popped up since the last time the forum went down, but I’m also confused how it could be related.
