Missing or Lost license.pvk file

Good day all, a customer has already deployed the BigFix server on Windows for ILMT and has been running fine. However when trying to complete the BigFix upgrade process, it asks for license.pvk and its password. Customer is unable to locate the license.pvk. Can this license.pvk be recreated using provided masthead.afxm or the license authorization file was used to create this license.pvk before?

Customer could re-install BigFix again with new license authorization file. The main concern is that will it re-connect back to existing BigFix databases created from the previous deployment (lost license.pvk)? Customer does not want to loose al it history data collected in BigFix databases and especially for ILMT database as well.

ILMT application might try to connect a new BigFix database and notices it is coming from a different deployment and it might fails.

Please advise. Thanks.

Unfortunately, not much can be done if the license.pvk file and/or the password to unlock it is lost (these cannot be re-created).

Hi Adam, surely no time no chat. Hope you are doing well these days. Are you now HCL employee or still IBMer? Reinstalling is not an issue with a completely new license.pvk file. However, can it be use to re-connect back to the existing BigFix databases with this new license.pvk file?

I meant to say “long time no chat”
