Minimum License to Patch Windows Server?

Digging through licenses, I’m a bit confused. What is the minimum needed for patching Windows Server? Anyone have a straightforward link that might help or even the direct answer? I keep running into life cycle modules and some other not super clear links.

Sorry, maybe I needed to add more information. We had RVU but currently no longer have RVU or MVS but no lifecycle.

What is the lowest module setup? Compliance? Lifecycle? That is what seems to elude me with the license changes.

Hello ShannonB

Your patching needs might be met with just Patch MVS term licenses but if you need advanced patching in the form of server automation for complex middleware and cluster patching you would need Lifecycle. I’m more than happy to discuss with you directly so that you have a very clear picture. I will send you a PM.

Thanks Dan. I think that’s probably what I needed to know. We are going from RVU’s and really just looking to do the simple “updated windows patches from bigfix”. Select this month and send the patches out so we can have things patched during the transition of a large license deal. If you have a work email - I’m happy to reach out for a quick call. Let me know.

I sent you my email and cell via a private message. Please check and send me an email or call.
