We are seeing differing results for Our Windows 2008 / Windows 7 Clients. Realizing Windows 7 isn’t supported yet, we just want to bring it to attention. At this point all the machines are 64 bit.
So running Microsoft Update on a Windows 2008 64 bit server shows:
kb973507 - MS09-037 -> kb973908
kb971557 - MS09-038
kb971567 - MS09-041
kb956744 - MS09-044
kb971961 - MS09-045
kb967723 - MS09-048
kb970653 - Aug Time Zone Update
kb972036 - Application Compatibility (not security we know)
BigFix shows:
kb969706 - MS09-035 x32
kb969706 - MS09-035 x64
kb973507 - MS09-037 -> kb973908
kb971557 - MS09-038
kb971567 - MS09-041
kb956744 - MS09-044
kb971961 - MS09-045
kb967723 - MS09-048
kb970710 - MS09-049
kb970653 - Aug Time Zone Update
So as for security patches we have BigFix reporting two additional fixlets:
kb969706 - MS09-035 x32
kb969706 - MS09-035 x64
kb970710 - MS09-049
And as for Windows 7 the two MS09-035 updates show in BigFix, but only the x64 version shows in Microsoft Update.
kb969706 - MS09-035 x32
kb969706 - MS09-035 x64
Are we seeing true differences / possible errors or is this something much simpler like naming differences and rolled up / superseded patches?
