Microsoft pulls patch KB4601392

Looks like microsoft pulled patch KB4601392.

wondering if bigfix users are impacted. Looks like maybe only the express updates could be impacted.

Does bigfix use express updates?

Anyone have any issues installing this patch via bigfix?

KB5001028 is a cumulative update, not SSU.

The flaw with the original patch affected clients using WiFi with WPA3.

If anyone had problems with the patch it was not because they used Bigfix to deploy it.

KB5001028 was released last week - the fixlet was released on Friday.

He is referencing KB5001078, not KB5001028.

Hah, how did I mis-read that?

I am having issues Microsoft said yesterday that the fixed SSU had to be installed before the CU. My servers had the bad SSU and the CU applied and were in a pending restart state when the notification of the bad CU came out. I am trying to rollback in such a way that a restart does not cause a freeze at 24% as noted my Microsoft yesterday (today that info is gone.) It took many steps including 4 restarts in order to get the CU rolled back, the fixed SSU applied, the CU re-installed and settled to a Completed state. I got the first partially-completed CU to fail thankfully. I am working with support to see if there is a better way.

It’s my understanding that only users who installed the express install patch are impacted, and bigfix does not use the express install patch.

Did you use something outside of bigfix to apply these patches?

Matt

The express update is referring to Windows 10. My issue is with Server 2016.
