Microsoft Enterprise agreement and DSS contracts

We have an Enterprise agreement with microsoft, that gives us 1500 seats of their Enteprise desktop license. The Enterprise desktop license contains and OS, Office and a few other things. I am having an issue figuring out HOW to define contracts within DSS. The confusion is mostly at the OS level; the enterprise desktop license gives us 1500 OS licenses. Those OS licenses could be XP, Vista, or Windows 7. I cant define a contract for each of those OS’s with a license count of 1500, as that is inaccurate. Is there a way to create a grouping of software titles, and use that grouping in the contract instead of a specific version of a specific executable?

SAM does not support defining a contract which covers multiple software title versions. The current approach is to merge the catalog entries for things which are licensed together. If that is not appropriate, you can still use SAM for inventory data, but will need to export that to a CSV file and complete your license calculations in a spreadsheet.
