Using BigFix 7.0.7.96. I have two operators who have identical permissions within BigFix. One of the operators created a few manual groups for their systems. These groups do not show up for the other operator. Is this normal? How can I get the groups to show up for the other user?
I thought about using Custom Sites, however, I don’t see an option to create a Computer Group in a particular Site.
I then thought that I, as the Admin, could create the groups for them, however, I do not want to have to do this for 250 operators.
Any thoughts?

Hi curth,
You can put automatic groups into a custom site, but not manual groups. However, you can define an automatic group whose criteria is membership in a manual group and that will let you work around the limitation.
Basically you create a custom site and put automatic groups in there. You can control who can puts groups in there by assigning write rights, and you can control who can see groups in there by assigning read rights.
The automatic group definition is simply membership in a particular manual group that you want to share amongst operators.
Note that in no case will operators be able to see machines they don’t have ownership over.

I understand the work around with the Automatic Groups. Just so I am clear, if Operator 1 creates a manual group, that manual group will not be seen by any other operator?

Manual groups made by master operators are visible to all operators.
Manual groups made by non-master operators are private to that operator.
