Manage Software Distribution Packages Dashboard

(imported topic written by SystemAdmin)

I’ve noticed that when I delete files from within my task, they are not being deleted on the BES server.

Is there a way to remove the files from the server using the console? Currently I have to browse to the server and remove the folder.

Software Distribution files will be deleted automatically from the BES Server if they are no longer used in a distribution task. To manually delete files, you can use the Cache Management dashboard in the BigFix Labs site.

As Anna said, SWD will automatically manage files cached on the server. Note however that SWD will maintain only one copy of the file, even if its used in multiple packages. So if you delete one package, it may not be deleted because its being used in another package, so use some caution if you choose to manually delete the file. Also I believe there is a bit of lag time between when a file is deleted from a package and when the server side service detects this and removes the file, so you may be seeing that.
