Location of Patches on My Big Fix Server

We have our patches sent to our Big Fix server by another team. Sometimes I have to install the patches manually, but I am not sure where the patches are stored on the Big Fix server. If you can offer any help I would appreciate it…

If you need to install them manually, it would be easiest to also download them manually. The Fixlet should have a link to the KB article showing where the patch can be downloaded

Thanks for the reply, we are a closed facility and so was hoping that the patches would be somewhere on the BigFix server…

Well, if you’ve issued the fixlet and the server has downloaded the patches, then technically they are there on the root.

Under BES Server\wwwrootbes\bfmirror\downloads\sha1, each patch file is present but it has been renamed to match its sha1 hash value. You can pull the file from there, rename it to the original (including its extension like .msu or .msi or .exe or whatever) and that will get you the original patch file.

You can read which hash file is which, if you look at the original fixlets the sha1 hash should be included in the ‘download’ or ‘prefetch’ command.
