Linux on PowerPC

(imported topic written by flailn91)

We are getting ready to support some new clients running Linux on PowerPC (IBM Power Server). This configuration is not listed as an officially supported client/platform (http://support.bigfix.com/bes/misc/supportpolicy.html).

Is anyone running this configuration and if so what BigFix client do you run?

Thanks.

I’m also interested in this. Has BigFix evaluated/tested the BESClient on Linux on PowerPC? Thxs.

Given that we’re part of IBM you would be safe to guess that said support has been added to our list of things to do. However, we can’t publicly commit to any delivery dates at this time. Porting agents isn’t as simple as recompiling (there are many support ramifications when you move to a new non-x86 architecture) so it could be a while.

Any update on this?

Yes, we are interested in this configuration. We need RHEL and SLES on ppc. We are running TEM Client 8.1 now.
