Linux and "action requires restart"

We’re starting to look at using Bigfix on our Linux endpoints. Being more a Windows person I was wondering how the “action requires restart” behaves in the Linux world. With Windows I know its setting data in the registry and this can be detected via scripts or processes external to the Bigfix client. Does anyone know where or what does this update/change in the Linux world? I didn’t see any changes in the besclient.config. We would like to be able to have shell scripts detect if/when a fixlet has set an “action requires restart”

Thanks in advance

I think I may have managed to find my answer.
