License Overview on Upgraded BES

Hi all,

We upgraded our Bigfix Server from 7.2 to 8.0. The upgrade process went absolutely smooth. One difference noticed was that the License Overview Dashboard shows us only 2 sections viz -

  1. BES Platform

  2. Other Sites

It does not show us -

Any other sites that can be enabled.

Also, Will the Bigfix Remote Desktop for Windows site be upgraded to Tivoli Remote Control ? Have tried Checking for License Update.

you have an “old” non-8.0 license. You should be able to request a new version of your license/masthead from BigFix/IBM. The “new” license/masthead will contain buttons to allow you to auto-subscribe any and all the sites your contract allows for, including the Tivoli Remote Control site. Think of it as BigFix’s way of their down-the-wire license management.

I had a simliar thing happen to me, just submit a ticket and request for a license update. You should mentioned all of your entitlements just to make sure they get it all right.

We requested for a new masthead and have received a new .BESLicenseAuthorization file.

Just to be sure and safe - are these steps correct

  1. Run the BES Administration Tool using the existing license.pvk file and the Admin Private key

  2. Request Masthead

  3. Browse to the “new” BESLicenseAuthorization file - Click Next

  4. Generate new masthead and license.crt

  5. Propogate new masthead.

We have over 9000 clients and would like to make sure that all clients report back.
