Laptop inspectors for MAC's

(imported topic written by jpeppers91)

Does anyone know of any inspectors for laptops for MAC’s?

This is very frustrating. I can see certain properties from the console but they do not show up in Managed properties. The were properties I once had but they are no longer available.

It’s not clear what you’re looking for. Are you looking for an inspector to identify whether a Mac is a laptop? Inspectors that identify battery info?

inspector to identify whether a Mac is a laptop

This may not work in the future, but I think it should work for now:

machine name as lowercase contains "book"

Any Mac laptop should have “book” in the model name (PowerBook, iBook, MacBook, MacBookPro)

Thank you very much, this helps a lot. By any chance you know how to read the com.bigfix.BESAgent.plist file to get relay1 and server2 ?

Try:

RelayServer1
string “Value” of dictionary “__RelayServer1” of dictionary “Client” of dictionary “Settings” of dictionary of file “/Library/Preferences/com.bigfix.BESAgent.plist”

RelayServer2
string “Value” of dictionary “__RelayServer2” of dictionary “Client” of dictionary “Settings” of dictionary of file “/Library/Preferences/com.bigfix.BESAgent.plist”

Thank you, this is exactly what I needed.
