Labs Spotlight: Computer Browser

(imported topic written by Zakkus)

Lee Wei has posted this on forum already, but we’ve released the Computer Browser as a part of Labs:

The computer browser can be installed using a fixlet provided in the Labs site.

Also, this release should fix some problems people have had enabling Labs through a proxy.

hi,

I have set these settings:

netsh winhttp set proxy proxy-server=“http:8080=proxy.xxxxx.at;https:8080=proxy.xxxxx.at

but this didn’nt work:

Could not access ISM catalog. Check your proxy and internet settings.

URL: http://www.ibm.com/software/brandcatalog/ismlibrary/resources/catalog?&client=TEPM&sortBy=update_ts_desc&rc=TivoliEndpointManager&rc=IBM_Tivoli_AssetType_BigFixLabs

Error: The operation timed out

There are other ways or log files??

Thanks

sounds like your proxy, or a firewall, is still blocking access. Are you sure those settings are set correctly, and can you hit that url successfully from a browser that is set up with the same proxy settings?

Also seems that you dont have exceptions specified for your proxy. Is that correct? You can see what exceptions are specified in IE under the “Connections” tab of “Internet Options” in internet. On that page, hit the “Settings” button, and in the new window you should see a “Proxy Server” section. Hit the “Advanced” tab to see the exceptions.
