Join domain without losing current desktop settings

Hi,

I want to change all the workstations to the new domain without losing all the desktop settings, email, etc.

Have any idea to create this fixlet?

we wrote a fixlet around the Microsoft USMT tool to move a PC from work groups into a domain. The 3.0.1 version is much quicker than the older ones and supports XP to XP.

I have 500 client from Workgroup to join domain.

we configured the USMT app to migrate what we wanted it to migrate (desktops, favorites, reg settings, etc) and then zipped it up. we joined the workstations to AD, had them autologon as a admin domain user on the workstation and then ran it from the runonce key. data was stored to a mapped drive (using the subst command for the local disk).
