Issues with Fixlet "...Windows Server 2012 R2 - KB5012170 (x64)"

My environment recently applied June 2023 patches last week and since then, our Windows 2012 R2 servers show being relevant to the following patch:

MS22-AUG: Security Update for Windows Server 2012 R2 - Windows Server 2012 R2 - KB5012170 (x64)

Since then, we have attempted to install the patch on a few Pre-Production servers to no avail. They give the exit code “-2145124329” which implies that the following:

“0x80240017 WU_E_NOT_APPLICABLE Operation was not performed because there are no applicable updates.”

Is there something that is needed to be done to correct this issue? Is there a known issue with this fixlet?

There was a similar but not identical issue with Windows 10, KB5012170 and the May 23 patches. The fixlets were re-issued with updated relevance.

How long ago were the fixlets re-issued and how soon should the updates show up in my environment?

Ah, misunderstanding, it was the Windows 10 versions that had the problem that were re-issued.

It does sound different though, the May OS patches raised the versions of the files to a higher level than in the KB5012170 patch, so install of the patches in the wrong order threw the error but properly patched machines did not become applicable to KB5912170 again.
