May be you can have a custom property created in BIgFix console and get it mapped into BFI

Custom property name: Operating System

Relevance : if name of operating system contains “Win” then “Windows” else “Non-Windows”

Full Operating System Name and Service Pack Level - Windows seems to list it somewhat like that:
