IPv6 only infrastructure

Will BigFix work in an IPv6 only network?

It appears that the Relay only works with IPv4, according to the KB article: https://support.hcltechsw.com/csm?id=kb_article&sysparm_article=KB0093361

Is this true? Any plans to support IPv6 only on the relays? Workarounds?

That is curious, the only box in the matrix that says ‘No’.

Is that because the agent to relay Comms, on the relay itself, is to 127.0.0.1 and can’t cope with ::1?

That may indeed be the case. @alanm suggests that perhaps it has to do with the inability of the automatic relay selection process to cope with IPv6 addresses. Obviously, the root server is also a relay, and it is listed as being okay with IPv6 Only.

Is there still an issue with Relays working with IPv6 only?

Did the KB article cover BigFix 10 and also hold true for BigFix 11, or is there a new KB article for BigFix 11?

Thanks,
Bob_K

Morning Bob … 11.0.2 will fully support IPv6 including relays and is due out shortly. I’m double checking this, but as far as I know right now, there will not be a 10.x version with full IPv6 support. That KB article will be updated once 11.0.2 ships.

Ok. Just got word that the 11.x branch, starting with 11.0.2, will be the only one with official, full IPv6 support.
