iOS Configure Management Extender: Download error

(imported topic written by SystemAdmin)

Hi,

I am in the process of setting up TEM for MDM on SmartCloud Enterprise. I currently have two VMs on SCE (running Windows Server 2008 R2), one of which is the server, and the other the Relay/Management Extender.

The deployment of the extender ran smoothly, however when I go to configure it I get a error message saying: “Download error: The only supported protocols are http, https and ftp.”

My understanding is that as I have already deployed the extender, the configuration shouldn’t need to download any files (the only transfer being the

upload

of the push.cer file), and so I can’t work out why I am receiving this error. I am able to download files from the internet through http just fine.

I have heard that this is a known problem, and any help that anybody can give would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Matt Ogle

No bother, fixed the problem!

I was receiving the error because I didn’t add https:// to the front of my hostname for the SSL certificates! Added that in and it was happy.

Hope this helps somebody.

One more thing to note is that the configuration process doesn’t like the push.cer files if they are uploaded from a network share, best to do it from a local disk.
