Our IE 8 deployment content is created and currently undergoing quality assurance. It should be ready midway to late in the month. I’ll be sure to let you know when we release it.

We’re looking at deploying IE8 to our Vista computers via BigFix. The “UPDATE: Internet Explorer 8 Available - Windows Vista/2008” fixlet (Reference #23136) relevance (#4) appears to support no service pack and service pack 1:
(((it = “WinVista” OR it = “Win2008”) of name of it) AND (((it = 0 AND (exists key “HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Component Based Servicing\Packages” whose ((exists key whose (name of it contains “KB937287”) of it) AND (exists key whose (name of it contains “KB949939”) of it)) of registry)) OR it = 1) of service pack major version of it)) of operating system
This relevance evaluates to false on our Vista with SP2 installations. Is this an oversight or is there a reason for the exclusion?

Bigfix recently published a modification to the IE8 deployment fixlets today:
BigFix has modified content in the Patches for Windows (English) / Enterprise Security site. The following Fixlet messages have been modified to apply to all supported versions of Windows Vista and 2008 Server:
ID: 23136 UPDATE: Internet Explorer 8 Available - Windows Vista/2008
ID: 23140 UPDATE: Internet Explorer 8 Available - Windows Vista/2008 (x64)
Patches for Windows (English) / Enterprise Security published version: 1258
The changes should make IE8 deployable on Vista SP2 and Server 2008 SP2 (x86 and x64). Thanks for reporting this!
