Installer issue found in KB3063109; no BigFix content will be published

BigFix found an installer issue for Microsoft KB3063109 during testing and will not publish a corresponding Fixlet to prevent corrupted system files.

To receive content for KB3063109, contact IBM Support and open a PMR to request for a custom copy. Use of the content is done at the user’s own risk and the user will be solely responsible for any damage to any computer system or loss of data that results from the custom content.

We highly suggest testing the content before deploying to production.

Issue found:
Users might encounter a stop error (also known as a blue screen) that is caused by winhv.sys which is the Hyper-V component that is updated by KB3063109.

BigFix Patch

Honestly, I’d prefer the past conventions where BigFix would publish a fixlet with no default action, or even without an action at all; BigFix should show us a patch is needed, even if you don’t want to install it for us.

BigFix has released audit content, which has no actions, for KB3063109.
This notice supersedes an earlier notice stating that BigFix won’t release update content for this particular KB.
