Importing & Exporting web reports on version 6.x

(imported topic written by QXVH_Charles_Brown)

Greetings,

Looking at the following link:

http://support.bigfix.com/bes/misc/customreports.html, it states that you can import custom reports on BES 6.0 & greater.

When attempting to make this happen on 6.x I can’t find any place where the info can be imported. I have seen the import in 7.x, but that’s in the future right now.

How can we export & import on 6.x.

Thanks for the assist.

Hey cbrown,

To import reports in 6.0 you would go to the ‘custom’ section and then look towards the bottom of the page. You’ll see an ‘import’ button and a ‘new’ button. The import button will take you to a page where you can select the file you want to import while the new button will let you cut/paste the xml in or author the report by hand.

Hope this is what you were looking for.

Thanks Tyler,

Now I know why I could not find. We were doing a header overwrite.

OK, Now the next set of questions.

I changed the header ovrwrite andd found custom.

How can I save these custom reports to a private area?

How can I export the xml for custom reports, so that I can input them on a different BES instance (in private areas)?

Thanks in advance.

OK, sorry for the spam.

Never mind about the saving to private areas, that just a store report.

But how can we export xml from other createed reports for use?
