In some cases BigFix Inventory 10.0.6 may create unnecessary connections to the BigFix database. This will result in database connections being kept open instead of closed, over time exhausting the allowed connections to the database.
To prevent this issue it is highly recommended to apply the hotfix as soon as it is released.
To mitigate the problem on 10.0.6, disable the Automatic Task Deployment via Advanced Server Settings. Within this setting, change “enable_automatic_task_deployment” to false.
The hotfix for this issue is planned to be released this week under 10.0.6.0.1 version.
The hotfix will be available as part of standard upgrade fixlet called “Upgrade to the latest version of BigFix Inventory (10.0.6.0.1)” and dedicated new fixlet called “Apply hotfix for KB0094388 in BigFix Inventory (10.0.6.0.1)”.
The new fixlet “Apply hotfix for KB0094388 in BigFix Inventory (10.0.6.0.1)“ will only be relevant when the BFI instance is not already patched during upgrade fixlet.
