Imaged a lenovo t440 - on boot up, stops at a "loop detected" / "impossible to revert screen"

Hey all - anyone ran into this before?

We imaged a Lenovo T440. It’s functional, however… on boot up, it always stops on a screen that says:

“SYSLINUX 4.06 EDD 0x5051c9fd Copyright © 1994-2012 H. Peter Anvin
Loopt detected. Impossible to revert to the old environment.
Press enter to continue”

if you hit enter, it carries on to Windows 10.

I’ve not ran into this before. We only have a few of these in our environment, not a huge concern - but is anyone familiar with how to purge this and have it cleanly boot from the hard drive without needing to hit enter?

I did notice that in diskmgmt this computer had a weird 16gb additional disk on it. I think it’s one of those hybrid SATA drives with an SSD cache on it. I tried deleting/formatting the 16gb disk to see if that would get rid of whatever is on there, but no luck.
