ILMT and Redhat s390 servers

Hello,

For IBM software compliance we are able to run the software scans and upload the results using the two provided fixlets. However when we run the fixlet to Initiate Capacity Scan and Upload Results. the scan does not run. Could this be due to the s390 architecture? What log on the target should we check?

For STIG compliance these boxes need to be FIP compliant. The also use fapolicy. Does the agent need to be added to the fapolicy list?

Capacity scan collection works differently for Zlinux/s390. Check task IDs 93/94/95 for these servers.

Thanks it always somethings when it comes to IBM software licensing.

Is it required that a seperate fixlet be created for each machine type?

Whats odd is we haven’t had to do anything for older versions of RedHat such as 7.9 and 6.10 s390x. Wonder what chnaged at the operating system level to require these new fixlets?

I think this process has been there from earlier versions, please check the following:

https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/license-metric-tool?topic=clouds-creating-capacity-configuration-linux-z-systems

Thanks for the URL. I know we have never used that fixlet on any of the older versions. If I look at the Hardware Inventory report I see information about the server ID Server Cores Vendor etc for the older systems but nothing for the newer Redhat 8.6 boxes. Very strange

I think that RHEL 8.6 on is not yet supported by ILMT. Take a look at the list of supported operating systems here:
