Yeah that is a pain and I have mentioned it previously to the course writers.
The best you can do is to note the sections you had the most issues with and then use the study guide to go over the content of those sections. The study guide is what is used to template what the questions will be, so if you find a section that you do not know off the top of your head, then check the user and admin guides for more information.
I have read through the study guide, console oper guide, config guide, admin guide and much more. There are still questions that are not covered in any of these docs. Those have to do with troubleshooting problems. I have a very small test environment, so many of those problems just don’t arise. This forum has actually been the best resource I have found. Thanks to all of you.
The tests should be similar, but I would probably recommend working to get certified on v9 first before trying v9.2
Of course, now that I read the test info more closely, it looks like the v9.2 certification has more questions, allows a longer time to take the test, and allows a lower score to get a passing grade. All of those factors might make C2150-521 easier than C2150-508
Thanks. I did mean the -508 test (v9.0). I got confused because I am running 9.2.6. I just looked at the -521 test and you are right about the time and questions. Time is not a concern for me as I got through the test in less than an hour. But, seeing as I missed passing by 3 questions, the 74% looks enticing. My concern, however, is that by having more questions, they are covering MORE areas to learn. I might just stick with the dragon I know.
I took the v9.2 recently and cleared it(very close to the pass %). There are questions which are tricky, if it’s okay with everyone. I can post them and get it clarified.
Took the 508 test (v9.0) and passed, yay! However, it had quite a few tricky ones as well. Seemed a lot like a Microsoft test to me. Not sure what the certification will do for me, but it was free to take, so I did. Maybe if I go next year, I will study prior to going and try for the professional cert? Anyone have that one? If so, what is the difficulty level and also, has the cert helped you at all? I looked at the summary and it looked intense.
I did the IBM Certified Deployment Professional - Endpoint Manager V9.2 at Interconnect last week. It was not too bad, but there were a couple on there that I am sure were a bit off. I did not study for it, other than a quick view of the study guide, and was able to pass (whew).
Yes. The one you took (v9.2) is on deployment. The other one is C2150-508 – v9.0 Fundamentals, which is the one I am studying for, is on the architecture and working with the Console.
I know that this thread is a little bit old, but I was planning on taking the C2150-508 Exam on Nov 11th (Veteran’s Day) And I just took the assessment exam on PersonVue twice and fail short on a couple of questions. So now I’m a little leary about scheduling the actual exam if the assessment exam was complicated, any thoughts??
