installation of Fixlet ID 434389705 - failed on my PC, do not see why. Also WindowsUpdate.log showing nothing usefull(I think)

After reboot the OS build number was remained at 16299.597 but both BigFix fixlets for KB4343897 (Cumulative and delta) are not relevant anymore. Did download Cumulative Update KB4343897 x64 from Microsoft Catalog and installed it manually - that worked.

Hi Waldemar,

Are you still having this issue with Patches for Windows version 3060?
Since your system was at OS build number 16299.597, the Cumulative should be applied instead. The fixlet from version 3057 was incorrectly applying the Delta but this was addressed shortly after the initial release.

Not entirely sure why both weren’t relevant after the failure though. The Delta from that site version should have remained relevant.

The fixlet for KB4343892 x64 (fixlet ID 434389201) has no default action, but the 32-bit version does.

Both fixlet descriptions also state that there are known issues with the update, but the MS article linked from the fixlet itself does not match this: August 14, 2018—KB4343892 (OS Build 10240.17946) - Microsoft Support

I was going through the fixlets one by one to see where the baseline was erroring out.

I started that way but after the first few of the 111 AUG fixlets I figured there had to be a better way.

If you issue an action from a baseline that contains the trouble fixlet you get a generic error message:

But if you issue a multiple action group by taking the default action on a selection of fixlets, like all of the MS18-AUG fixlets for example, then you get the above more specific message.

Hi,
Microsoft states that “Windows 10, version 1607, reached end of service on April 10, 2018. Devices running Windows 10 Home or Pro editions will no longer receive monthly security and quality updates that contain protection from the latest security threats”.

However, the August Cumulative and Delta fixlets for Windows 10 1607 show relevant on Win 10 1607 Pro devices. Inadvertently, when deploying the update to those devices, the update attempts to install and when the user reboots the computer, the update fails and reverts back. This is confusing since the BigFix relevance is not catching that the device windows 10 1607 version is Pro and not Enterprise. Has anyone experienced the same issue?

I have an extremely small sample size of 2 Pro Workstation 1803 Win10 systems; one is reporting relevant for KB4343909 while the other reports remediated. Neither have run any actions from BigFix nor Windows Update, but it\s possible one got the update from SCCM. That or the relevance changed with a recent site update.

Originally, Microsoft stated there were “Known Issues”, listing all of the July rollup problems, and then later removed the Known Issues.

To really get a list of Known Issues, you can’t ask Microsoft anymore - you have to Ask Woody

Did he finally fix the cert issue on his site? Seems like i remember always getting a warning.

There are issues with KB4343205 corrupts the IE11 and other KB434900 it gives blue screen error. both KBs for Win7 machines.

KB4343887 was not downloaded to our BigFix server , same also with KB4344104 (for X86)
