IBM BigFix Inventory application update 9.2.15.2 is now available

This update contains the following fixes:

  • Reporting of extended usage statistics for Java does not cause import failures.
  • Problem with displaying the correct scope of data on Software Installation panel is solved.
  • The import of data on Solaris servers does not fail on processing capacity scans.
  • ‘Initiate Software Scan’ fixlet runs successfully on Solaris operating system.

  • ‘Detecting malware threats based on SHA-256 file checksums’ Preview Feature deactivation announcement.
    IBM BigFix Inventory application update delivered in December 2018 introduced the following Preview Feature: Detecting malware threats based on SHA-256 file checksums. See: https://ibm.biz/File_checksums.
    In accordance with the Preview Features Disclaimer notice, the feature for detecting malware threats has been deactivated. The deactivation was made effective on May 20, 2019. Deactivation of the feature will be transparent to your deployment as there is no action that is required to perform on your installation or any product update modification that will have to be deployed. Removal of feature is done by deactivating the temporary subscription license for IBM X-Force Exchange that was made available in BigFix Inventory 9.2.14.

  • End of support for MS SQL 2008 and 2008 R2 database is planned for September 2019.
    All clients who use BigFix Inventory server with MS SQL 2008 or 2008 R2 database should migrate to newer MS SQL version that is supported by the product. For more information, see: https://ibm.biz/EOS_MS_SQL_2008.
