Right-click a computer, Edit Settings, and check the “Locked” checkbox at the top of the “Edit Settings” dialog.

Or from the BES Support site, run Task 295 “BES Client Setting: Lock Computer”, handy if you need to target several machines.

What is your specific use case?

Locking an endpoint is a bit heavy handed, but is useful when heavy handed is called for. If an endpoint is locked, it can’t do anything at all.

Generally you would target actions in BigFix to an automatic group and exclude machines from the automatic group that you didn’t want to get the action.
