GetURL failed - General transport failure. - BAD SERVERNAME

Hi all,

When I execute the Deploy Server in BigFix Console I received the message Below. I´m using the server in Linux Server.

I can execute telnet in server vwbransvilmt02 on port 52311 but I cant access the page https://vwbransvilmt02:52311.

In my experience this looks like firewall issue. Did you check with firewall team for blocked traffic?

Agree, also since the telnet “works” but https does not, check into layer-4 firewall filtering as described at RegisterOnce: GetURL failed - General transport failure. - 'http://127.0.0.1:52311/cgi-bin/bfenterprise/clientregister.exe?

DNS resolution can be a problem too (especially, the “BAD server name” message). For example, we had an isolated network where we had a single entry point relay and because it was on a separate domain it couldn’t resolve the root server, even though traffic was allowed. I manually added the hostname of the root server to the local hosts file and it fixed the problem.

Hi all,

I edited the hosts file on server that have the BigFix console installed with the IP from the server vwbransvilmt02.

Now it´s work normaly.
