I’m not sure that this is the right forum to ask this in but…
I subscribed to the “Patches for Mac OS X” fixlet site, but it seems to contain only fixlets that are relevant for the PowerPC architecture (I checked the relevance of the newest ones and they all contained “(((((name of operating system = “Mac OS X”) AND (family name of main processor contains “PowerPC”))”. Am I missing something?
Also I noticed that the “Patches for Mac OS X” fixlet site contains patches for the OS and for Apple applications, but where do I go for Mac application fixlets like Adobe Reader, Mozilla Firefox, or MS Office? I hope you have them like you do for Windows or I’ll have to write lots of custom fixlets…
Again I apologize if this is in the wrong forum, please allow me to play the new card.
This question probably belongs in the “Patch Management” forum instead of “Fixlet Authoring”, but we’ll answer it anyway. =)
The “Patches for Mac OS X” Fixlet site currently provides security update coverage for the PowerPC architecture only. Support for Intel is forthcoming but we do not have a release date set yet (we’re currently aiming for a late Q2 2007 release). The site is designed to cover “Apple Security Updates”, a list of which can be found here: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61798.
Update content for Mac applications from other vendors is not currently supported in our regular patch sites. However, you can create custom content for those or go through our Professional Services department to have them create the content for you. I hope this answers your question, let us know if you have any other concerns.
