We don’t use F-Secure at work, but I’m willing to try to help.

A quick Google search brings up the following …

http://www.f-secure.com/en/web/home_global/support/article/kba/2109

Which version are you trying to uninstall?

F-Secure 2009. Thanks for uninstallation from Google but i have got other problem. J have to uninstall F-Secure by TEM, because I have got a lot remote Stations (PC). And it’s my problem !

It has to only TEM !

oopsss…unfortunatelly !!!

The point of the link was to illustrate part of the problem. WHICH of the F-Secure applications do you need to uninstall?

The actual process can differ with each product.

The basics task will be to execute the command in the UNINSTALL value from the Registry, using substitution in the action script.

Sorry, I missed the F-Secure 2009 line.

It would help if I could see the Uninstall key for F-Secure 2009. Can you export the HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall branch for F-Secure 2009 from one of your computers, zip it and attach it here?

Thanks for Your Reaction !

Welcome here you are.! It’s zip export from Windows about F-Secure.

Can you help me ?

Sorry!

It’s a good version of export from F-Secure Uninstall from regedit.

The attached RAR contains a VERY basic fixlet that will locate Windows computers with the registry key “HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\F-Secure Uninstall” containing a value named “UninstallString”.

The action will simply attempt to execute the commands in the UninstallString value.

The text of the Action is as follows

waithidden {value "UninstallString" of key "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\F-Secure Uninstall" of registry}

WARNING :

If the uninstall requires any responses from a user this will not work properly since it will be running under the SYSTEM security context!!!

The previous Fixlet does not set the RESTART REQUIRED flag, but according to the documentation, and best practices, the targeted computers should be restarted after the uninstall completes.

Thanks for help and answer for my question.

Can you attach this a fixlet for uninstall F-Secure which I can use in my TEM ?

Can you help ? I will be very gratefull for you.

I did attach a RAR’d copy of the .BES file that you should be able to import into your TEM environment. Look back a few messages.

Sorry, I missed the F-Secure 2009 post.

Thank you very much. I will check it.

Thanks for all.

It doesn’t work. This fixlet.

Unfortunatelly ! oooch…Can you help me again ?

(imported comment written by SystemAdmin)

What does it do when it “doesn’t work”?

Can you attach the log file that shows the failure?

If you manually uninstall the application, does it ask for any user input? Do you have to click ANY buttons at all?

(imported comment written by SystemAdmin)

To test this properly, can you please execute the command that is in the UninstallString value for the software? Do if from a CMD windows, and if you have to click on any buttons or enter any information, let me know.

(imported comment written by olek00)

I had imported this fixlet to TEM but, in my remote station, there wasn’t any reaction for uninstalling !!! Zero !!

I executed the command like UninstallString value for the software in CMD in my local station and I had to click button. (OK for add/uninstall programs)unfortunatelly !!!

Clicking button is a problem !

I’ve never tried it with TEM, but I wonder if something like the AutoIT scripting tool might help with cases like this?

(imported comment written by SystemAdmin)

from reading the above link, an AutoIT script might not work.
