Fixing BES Relay

(imported topic written by SystemAdmin)

We have a slow connection to our 7.2.1.357 BES Relays (256K on frame relay circuit) recently after deploying a small task to all of our sites (156 relays w/ about 13 clients each) our Relays get currupt. We only receive timestamps from the clients but the actions never report back. We know it’s the relay because as soon as we unistall the relay and all clients for that site change to RELAY:Root Server, and all the actions complete. So I have to questions, what could be causing this the relay to get currupt? We’ve tried restarting services, reboots, making sure http://ROOTSERVER:52311/cgi-bin/bfgather.exe/actionsite returns MIME info.

What directories do I need to back up besides sha1 when reinstalling the Relay?

Check to see if there is any file system corruption. We had a similar issue with two of our sites and it turned out that the file systems were corrupt. Run a chkdsk on it and see if there are any issues.

You also might want to contact support and see if they can figure out what is getting corrupted about the relays…

We will upgrade to 7.2.5.22 and we’ll see how it goes.
