Filtering on Source Release Date Problem

(imported topic written by SystemAdmin)

Hi, just thought that I would bring to your attention…

I was just trying to creating a Web Report and one of the filters was Content -> Source Release Date -> is -> date

If you use the pop-up calendar to select a date, it enters the date in the field as mm/dd/yyyy. However, the Source Release Date for my fixlets is in the format dd/mm/yyyy therefore it doesn’t find the correct fixlets.

I tried typing the date in by hand which doesn’t seem to work either and selecting 9th Feb 2010 to retrieve fixlets from the 02nd September 2010 sometimes works but not always.

If you need screenshots or anything, let me know.

When you say “my fixlet is in the format dd/mm/yyyy,” do you mean your custom fixlets, or are all the fixlets in this format?

A screenshot might help, also.

Thanks,

Mike

Hi Mike - sorry for the delay in responding…

I meant the Source Release Date as reported in the Bigfix console for any fixlet, task, etc.

I’ve attached a couple of screenshots (hopefully). In the Web Reports screenshot, I selected the date by clicking in the date field and then selecting the 13th September from the dropdown calendar.

Mark.

Nope - I still can’t add an attachment :frowning:

Anybody else having problems ?

In Web Reports do you see all source release dates in the form “dd/mm/yyyy” or is there some variation in the format?

Thanks,

Mike

Hi Mike,

I’ll try and attach a document with a screenshot illustrating the following:-

  1. ‘Explore Data’ -> ‘Content’ (n.b. I haven’t selected a date yet ! ). As you can see there are Visible Fixlets with a date of 27/08/2010

  2. I click in the date entry field and the calendar pop’s up. Tab back to August 2010 & select 27th.

  3. The date field gets populated with ‘08/27/2010’ - now press ‘Apply Filter’

  4. No records are found

edit

It still doesn’t look as though I can add an attachment - does anyone know if there’s a size limit or, maybe, a document type restriction?

I’ll try with a much smaller file…

Nope - still no good :frowning:
